This uses a boxed cake mix. Make sure you use the larger size (18.25 ounce, I think) There are some that are only 15 oz.
If you don't want the extra chocolate in the filling, leave out the ice cream topping.

    CAKE

1 box chocolate fudge cake mix
    1 egg
    1 stick butter, melted

    FILLING

    8 oz cream cheese, softened
    2 eggs
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    1 stick butter, melted
1 jar(s) Hershey's hot fudge or special dark ice cream topping
    1 lb powdered sugar

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9x13 inch pan with cooking spray.
    2. In a medium bowl of electric mixer, combine cake ingredients and spread in prepared pan.
    3. In a large bowl of electric mixer, combine filling ingredients until well mixed. Spread over cake layer.
    4. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes. Don't over bake; the middle should be a little jiggly.

Thanks for the recipie, while it's not the exact one i'm looking for will have to try it as the ingredients should taste good. The one i've tried uses a german chocolate cake mix, a bag of chocolate chips and a bag of caramels melted and baked inside.--shu

Improvise! Might come up with something all new, and even better.

I hate to send anyone to Pinterest, but here is something called a Snickers Cake that might be close to what you want.

I did a cherry dump cake one time that turned out pretty good. Two cans of Comstock cherries, 1 box of chocolate cake mix, one 16 oz bottle of good ole DrPepper (the real stuff; no diet). I used the same bowl/pot you would use for a cobbler. Dump the cherries first, sprinkle the cake mix evenly on top, then simply pour the DP on top. No mixing or stirring. I had to bake mine around 450 for 45 minuets to make it turn out. Kids ask when I am going to do it again. It was gooey too. DP
