Damn! Since Im relegated to the coastal bays all summer we never see numbers like that. Went out for flounder last week and saw a few small crabs but nothing near keeper size.
I think I got my motor straight and got back out for fun not test runs . Talked to comm crabber friend of my who scapes for soft crab and peelers said he was starting to get nice hard crabs too so I baited trotline up and gave it try 1st spot only produced 4 crabs in 3 runs . We went for a ride had my wife and my buddy and his wife so we just rode around for awhile then went up the river we were in til we found water that wasnt gin clear and got a nice bushel in 8 runs .Bait was still good so me and g duck went back monday morn and got another bushel in 8 runs in the wind

The flounder were slow on that day. We only boated one (short) and lost several smaller ones that came boat side with just the tail of the bait in their mouths. The water was really muddy near my house so I ran up towards the inlet where it was much clearer but still pretty cold. It was much warmer in the South Bay behind Assateague but again brown and silted up from a south wind the day before. Saw a bunch of bluefish caught in other boats in and around OC inlet. This was a short trip so decided to head back early. Second flounder trip of the season first one skunked me.
