I had 6 jets when I fished the New River in VA...All the lower jet units are made by OJC in CA..They make the units for all motor manufacturers...Company owned by Dick Stahlman....

If you have a 50hp powerhead you will have approximately 33hp leaving the jet pump. 90hp powerhead will have approximately 63hp. They are not a good choice for lake fishing but are excellent for shallow rivers...They are also gas burners..If you want any more info let me know...

Jets are a pain unless you really need them for rivers or you like roostertails. They are high maintenance, ineffecient and they steer like crap at slow speeds. My B.I.L. has had a 20 foot jet for years and I'll never buy one myself.
Good things come to those who bait.

i have a 90/65hp 4 stroke yamaha jet drive on my 1860cc g3,and all i can say is i love it!!...some people love them, some people hate them... i also got the lower unit i can bolt on and run a prop, take about 30 min. to switch out..so i got just about all the water covered.

The only jet drive I've ever been around was not only very loud it was awfully loud. Don't know if that is a characteristic of all jet drives or just that particular one.

i see them on our ozark streams around here all the time....so i hate them. people seem to think since they dont' have a prop they can just fly up and down peaceful little rivers. one of these times i'm gonna smack one with a DD 22 and see how long my Fireline can hold!

I agree...those jet boats are annoying on Ozark streams and that is the only thing I really dislike about going to those rivers. We usually take our canoes a few times a year and float and campin the Ozarks. You will be fishing and all the sudden whooom... there goes a jet boat. I understand everyone has there own way of having fun but I still don't have to like them destroying the peace I went seeking in the first place.

Sorry...getting back to the subject I have never owned one so I know very little about the performance part.
