Default Water levels are up and getting higher

From the way it looks, the lake around here, the Water levels are up 3 to 6 feet and will keep going up.
Rain is in the forecast for most of the week / weekend.
This makes it hard to fish

I drove pass LaCygne lake Sunday. I could see half of the lake was brown (run off ) and the other half was blue.
Also drove over the Marais Des Cygnes river at the town of LaCygne. It was really high and full of junk floating. Looked nasty.

Heard from some guys the catfish are on the banks eating the worms / food.
Wonder if the Crappie will be in close doing the same?
Tried the Clinton docks yesterday. Not good.
Saw a few fish being caught from the banks on minnows. But was slow.

    Darn weather.

Fished Tuttle Sunday and couldn't find them anywhere. Fished shallow, deep and in between. It was a bust.

We fished a ditch sunday evening. Loads of fish in it. So many you'd think you had a bite, and it would end up being fish just swimming into your line. Hooked a couple but I didn't want to set the hook to hard because it comes rocketing out if you miss. Daughter had a blast watching all the fish working.

I was wondering how Tuttle was looking. I would imagine it's up quite a bit?

Got home last night and son-in-law was there wanting to go fishing. It was the first time he's ever asked so I wanted to take advantage of the opportunity. I worried that with all the rain it might be a long night but didn't have anything better to so figured what-the-heck. Went over to Shawnee Mission Park. Caught one crappie but found the catfish in close to the bank. Ended up with eight nice ones and one big one that snapped the line before we could get it in the boat.

Yes. The road into stockdale was flooded and closed, had to go to the marina ramp. We fished several coves with no luck. Been down there the 2 weekends prior and fishing had been pretty good. Maybe it will straighten back out in the near future. Caught some really nice fish there this spring.

This link is for all the lakes levels in the Kansas City District.
