    Default st croix panfish rods

been looking at getting one of these either in the 7' lite or 6'9 ultra lite, like i really need another rod. i was wondering if anybody new of a store that carried them in stock. would love to put my hands on it before i bought it rather than order it and not like it. im close to hattiesburg, ms and academy doesn't carry st croix, dick's doesn't stock em, no gander. we have a bass pro bout 65 miles from here. would make the trip if i knew they were on the shelf.

My local BP carries several models. You could call ahead of time to see if they have any on hand.

They're nice rods. (So are the trout rods.)

I have the 7 footer and it's a great rod. Cabelas has them on the rack if you have one of those close by.

Can't help you on where to find one, but I put my hands on a 7ft light. Great feeling rod, very light weight and the extra fast action gives it plenty of backbone. It will be my next crappie rod purchase.

There is a gander mt in hattiesburg,ms. I was just there last month while visiting my daughter. they carry a huge selection of st Croix rods. didn't buy a rod but lots of tackle and a tackle box to put it in. google it to get their address.

Cabelas has them on the shelf. I purchased a 6'6" Split grip Premier PS66LF2SG last week in the Louisville Ky. store for casting jigs. Looking forward to trying it out this weekend.

I recently bought a 7ft light action trout series... It's a great rod for trout... I've caught a few crappie on it good feel for that too!

I bought an ultralight 7ft SC rod some years ago that I still use for trout. I've tried using it for crappies but I just don't like the feel when fishing for them. It's way too limber, tip wise, for my taste. I prefer my 5.5ft B&M dockshooter or my Wally Marshall 7ft for jigging for crappies.
