Nice catch.
Caught these this morning.open water 8 to 10 ft deep, fish scattered 4-6 ft deep. Some on minners, some on jigs, black chart and orange chart. No eggs today or the last week or so.kept one under the league limit, 9", gut hooked. Released about 20 small.
Every day is a holiday and every meal is a picnic.
Nice catch.
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
Best thing to do with ANY sub-legal sized fish, whether they're liable to survive or not, is to pitch them back into the water. The LEO's don't care about your good intentions. And the fish won't go to waste, as Ma Nature has plenty of cleaning crews to take care of those fish that don't survive being caught. If the Catfish or other predatory fish don't eat it before it dies, the crawdads or turtles will eventually find it ... and if they don't, the microorganisms will.

Down that way it would become a snack for a gator pretty quick.

I am like Tony I always keep the gut hooked fish. Just something that I was always taught as a young boy not to waste what I catch or kill. That was one of the reasons why I use the bigger hooks. But we don't have a slot limit on my lake so it is legal here. Those are some nice crappie and thanks for sharing and the pictures.
Be safe and good luck fishingTony the Tiger LIKED above post
