I've known of a pond/lake in the Sedalia area that is known for phenominal crappie fishing. Many reocord breaking crappie have supposedly been caught from there, but never recorded. I have a family member that is one a very few people allowed to fished there and have been on him for over a decade to get me in to find out for myself with no such luck. He personally has a 19'' fish from there and knows a guy that caught two 22" fish in the same day...and ate em. lol I'd be very skeptical about this, but my source is very trust worthy. Sometimes I ponder...................................wonder where this young feller was.....

Wow nice!! Farm ponds can grow some big crappie as long as they are fished a lot so they won't get stunted. My sister caught a 3 pound 10 oz. crappie out of a local farm pond.
I am not so sure that is necessarily the case. If the pond is muddy and no food etc maybe. But from my experience over fishing can kill a lake with big crappie. I think it is a ploy to get access to places, that are being conservatively managed, by people that think they are supplying the Knights of Columbus and kill every crappie they can squeeze in their 20 GAL coolers.
