    Default Which line

Spoolin up my dock shooter and got a question for those in the know. I don't want opinions of whose line is best. That subject is pretty well ground to the nub. From you dock shooters reading this, WHAT line works best for you and why. Mono or braid, or?

    Thanks

Pappa ... I use copolymer line (6lb test Vicious Panfish hi-vis) for my dock shooting. Good abrasion resistance and strength, and seems to have a little less stretch than mono. Got it on my regular jig casting rods, too, since I'm usually casting into a lot of wood cover (brush piles, blowdowns, standing timber).

I use Power Pro Slick 8 braid. I like the strength and the ability to feel the smallest tic on the jig.

2-4lb test braid with fluorocarbon leader. Good casting distance and less stretch than mono when casting 1/16 oz plus the weight of plastic. Works even in spincast reels.

Any test will work but you should use mono line in my opinion as it gives a it of stretch to send the jig under the docks easier. Try both braid and mono and you will FEEL the difference! Good luck!

I do not shoot docks very often but when I do I prefer Stren 6lb HI Vis Yellow line because it works and I can see it better.
