    Default Grand Slam

I've been gone from the site for a while so I think it's time I wander back. It was a mild "Cold Season" this year but wintering over seemed tough. I finally managed to get my butt in my boat and take it for a float the other day. I fished a small lake about 9 miles from home and thoroughly enjoyed the day. I was slow trolling a 1" red tube worm with a white tail and a single Crappie Nibble. I lucked into a Grand Slam for that lake and caught 2 Yellow Perch, 2 Bluegills, 1 Largemouth Bass & 2 really nice Black Crappies that incidentally were invited home to dinner. I caught them all on a 5 foot, Jimmy Houston, ultra-light spinning rod with 4 lb Berkley Trilene XL. Man, that's a fun rod. I gotta do that again. As a side-bar, I saw lots of ducks and geese, an otter, several ospreys, 2 deer, 1 wild turkey and I heard one bald eagle. There always seems to be more to fishing than fishing.
Where you go is less important than how you take the steps.
    But don't forget the Roadrunners

Welcome back and like you said it's more to fishing than just catching. Thanks for sharing.
