    Default roadrunners under floats

    hi,
does anyone use roadrunners under a float, or is this not the most effective way to use this lure, since it's not moving enough to get the blade action... ?

    thx,

It will work, I tight line one all the time. Still provides flash with the slightest movement. Don't need to spin.

I agree with keefer. A very slow retrieve will get just a little bit of flash, and an occasional quick yank will get reaction strikes. Even sitting still, wave action will make it flash. Very good bait under a float.

I use Road Runners under cork sometimes. With the twitching of the cork I can make the blade flash and the fish do bite it. Just like vertical jigging only slower.

Yep sure can - as I fish from shore it's sometimes the best way to fish down the side of a grassline

Yes. it gives the jig an up and down twitch when you twitch it giving it a vertical jig look. Good luck!

thats a very good pointing, getting vetical jig, thx.
i was thinking that a fixed float would disturb the water alot more when you twitched.
    which isn't good right ?

Well a fixed float will definitely work, but so will a slip float. But with a slip float you can yank that jig straight up, let it fall straight down, and hardly move the float towards you....lets you keep your jig right next to cover longer. A fixed float will move towards you, raise the jig and give you a swing/fall type of retrieve. So either/or!

I will use them under a slip float with a slow retrieve and pause technique. On the pause it settles back under the slip float enticing strikes.
