I fish baits similar to the BS all the time. I just fish 'em without the spinner.
Is it me,or has the beetle spin been shoved to the bottom of the tackle box? I have caught countless crappie and gills on the beetle spin, and the y still are a large part of my arsenal.Maybe I missed it,but I hear about many go to lures, but the beetle spin seems to be all but forgotten.

Me and my two youngest boys whooped up on some nice fish over the weekend on a BS. Good times. I did replace the standard twin tail grub with one of Crappie Farmers swimming grub tails and that was the right call in the stained water. I like them alot for casting for Crappie, Bluegill, Bass, and White Bass -- they all eat a Beetle Spin!

One of the best all time pond baits. IMO
My go-to bait for bull 'gills...my favorite is a 1/16oz in catapla fish with a 5'5" U/L rod and reel on 4lb line.
For the Everlasting Glory of the Infantry.
Anyone who forgets about them should get em back out!!! I make my own
It never made it into my tackle box ... and everyone that's fished with me & used it, was outfished by me using a 1/16oz marabou Roadrunner. I prefer the Roadrunner because there's less chance of it getting tangled in the line when casting.
