    Default Allison - deer pics

Hope ya'll don't mind me posting this here, I just wanted to say
a big "Thank You" to Mr. David Waters for inviting us over to hunt
with him. :D I had pretty much quit deer hunting by the time Allison
was five or so, but she remembers seeing me bringing deer home, and
has really been hounding me to take her the last couple of years.
Thanks buddy, I think this was one of the nicest things anyone ever
    did for me.

At this point, I'm still the "trigger guy", but I started today
looking around for a suitable youth gun for her. Hoping to have her
well-grounded in gun safety and a good shot by next season!
Even though she didn't pull the trigger, she heard it coming WAY
before I could and kept nudging me, whispering that she heard a deer.:D
Probably something to do with those zillion rounds I shot without ear muffs
    when I was growing up...

Congrats on the deer. Great smile on the young lady. A Rem. youth Model 7 in the 7mm 08 is a flat shooter with not much recoil. I never did outgrow mine. Short arms with a coat on it still fits.

Jeff your doing the work of one fine dad. I wonder what will happen if she starts to like deer hunting better than crappie fishing?

Thanks guys! Maineiac, that model 7 is a sweet deal, I was almost tempted into trading for one myself several years back. I love my model 70, but it is
sort of on the long-barreled side for the close quarters of a ground blind or
    shooting house.

Gooch, that very well may happen. But at least maybe she'll fish when
    the hunting season closes :D

Jeff nice deer there. I know she will sure be after you now.
Might won't to look into a 260 for her. Great round and also not much kick.

Need to get down there and have lunch soon.

    Jeff,

Not being a hunter myself, the only thing I can honestly say is that I'm tickled to see a daughter enjoy her Dad's company so much!

I gotta tell ya though. The pictures of the blood in the back of that p/u truck reminded me of the time my brother and his friend brought my new dryer to my house as a favor. There was blood all over the back of his p/u truck. They had me CONVINCED they had beat the *&it out of someone and dumped him down the highway. I was ready to call the paramedics and go try to help them find the poor soul when the laughter ERUPTED from my stinkin brother and his friend. Seems they had been deer hunting earlier that morning.
