    Weiss Lake Alabama Fishing Report
in Alabama has been constantly changing and challenging. With high winds, rain, and changing temperatures the Crappie aren’t sure what to do. They are wanting to spawn but with all the weather changes they are pulled out to the first deeper water they can find near spawning areas. Not to say they can’t be caught, they still need to feed to get ready to spawn and we have had some good success using some of the same tactics we have used the past month.
We are long line trolling with 6 pound Gamma Hi Vis fishing line with a Bobby Garland 1/24th ounce Mo-Glo head, still using either orange or pink. The key colors on the back end have been the Bobby Garland Slab Slay’R in Monkey Milk. We have also used the Bobby Garland Baby Shad Swimmer in either Blue Ice or Blue Grass. Keep a close eye on your electronics and find the bait fish in deeper water around ditches and humps near spawning areas as I said earlier. Don’t let this weather keep you off the water, we are stilBe safe and I’ll see you on the water!

Very nice report! Are you drifting, trolling or just casting structures? We've just got some open water as of this week, so I'm looking forward to a good 2015 season. (BTW, we love the wind too!)

The day we caught these we were long line trolling. We have also caught some biguns shooting docks, and fishing around shallow stumps. We caught some bigger than those in the pic this past week. Good luck!
