    Default The Ponds; 4/13/15

Walt & I launched around 9:30 am and were off the water by 1 pm. Water temp was 48 degrees and relatively clear. Weather was as near perfect for an early spring day, as you could have hoped for. Air temps started out at about 52 degrees, but rapidly rose to 70 with a light, variable breeze from time to time.

We were targeting crappie & yellow perch, which we've been successful fishing for for many years, after ice out. Unfortunately, today was the exception. We skunked out on everything except a bunch of small, hungry pickeral - we call 'em "slime darts".

The boat worked flawlessly however, so it was not a bad day afterall. Hoping to hit a river oxbow tomorrow morning to see if we can't do better. With any kind of luck, ours will improve!

Just getting out was a catch in itself.

X2 with Bee - Just getting on the water and working some baits would feel good.
