Default A "hot" day on the water

Got out again today in the nice weather. Started off fishing a submerged rock pile where I always pick up a fish or two. It didn't let me down and I caught a keeper right off the bat then 4 or five small ones. Thinking I was in for a banner day I made my way to my hotspot from earlier in the week and caught nothing. Then slow trolled to another spot that has produced for me recently. Caught 10 fish or so but all very small. Decided to look for the fish with my side imaging up in the shallows and was dragging a jig behind me at .25 mph in 6 feet of water. I wasn't seeing much of anything when the rod started bobbing and it was a nice one. Hit spot lock on the trolling motor then cast in a circle around that location and put 8 big fat crappie in the cooler. I now had 10. Not wanting to decimate that school I moved on and of course I never found them again while I fished my way back to ramp. I did catch 10 or 11 more before I left but kept none because they looked so much smaller than the other I had already. Even fished the area where I caught the giant pickerel and crappie earlier in the week but didn't catch one. Strange how they move so much but I guess that's what makes it fun.
