Sounds like a good trip. Even better had it not been for the wind.
Went fishing between I 40 and Highway 70. River temp 61 Bay temp 67. I started with pulling 4 crankbaits 100 and 200 depending upon water depth and 6 jigs. Caught 2 before 8 ended up with 10 keepers by noon only one on a crappie colored b100. The wind was strong enough I had to stop pulling cranks by 10. I finally gave up at 3 could not control the boat because of the gusts. The jig colors that seemed the best was pink and white and orange and chartreuse. Chartreuse and red was a stripe magnet.

The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
Good report, thanks for sharing as this helps me know what color combinations to try. Wind has been bad this April for everyone. But you still left with a good mess of crappie. Good catch.
Be safe and good luck fishing
Good info. You guy's hit spawn yet?
