A Fish Story
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
James was stopped by a game warden recently as he was coming back from the sea, near the dock in Playa. He was carrying two large buckets of fish. As it was during spawning season, the game warden asked, “Do you have a license to catch those fish?”
James replied, “No, sir! These here are my pet fish.”
“Pet fish?” the warden replied.
“Yes, sir, you bet.” answered James. “Every night I take these here fish down to the sea and let them swim around for a while. Then I just whistle, and they jump back in the buckets, and I take them home.”
“That’s bunch of crap. Fish won’t do that.” said the game warden.
James looked at the officer with an expression of great hurt, and then said, “Oh, yeah! Well I’ll just have to show you then. It really does work, don’t you know?”
“Okay, I’ve got to see this!” responded the game warden, who was really curious now.
So they returned to the wharf, where James poured the fish into the ocean and stood waiting. After several minutes, the game warden turned to James and said, “Well?”
“Well what?” replied James.
“When are you going to call them back?”
“Call who back?” asked James.
“The fish!”
“What fish?”
