    Default christmas tree condos


    allways heard of putting out old xmas trees to attract crappie. ive got me a couple and gonna put them out. if anyone has any advice or comments i would appreciate some feed back.

    cut out some of the limbs so teh slabs will have a place to get into, they are ususally to thick for them to hide in

    The ones I put out just turned into 1 big pile of moss.I don't think there very good myself.I guess they may be better than nothing though.Pines work pretty good but don't last very long.I'v found the smooth bark hickory tree limbs work good.

    I plane on putting some out but I can tell you this past spring I found a cove that had 15 trees laying on there side in a big circle, didn't catch one crappie because there were 2 blowdowns 50 feet away and they were loaded. so when you put them out find an area that has no structure and thin the trees out, Christmas tree don't last as long but if you find they are producing then you can put better structure in later
