    Default Towing Boat Question

Hey yall, I'm thinking about buying a new honda civic. Is it possible to pull my
bass tracker pro crappie 17 1/2 ft with 40 hp with the civic ?
I think the capacity weight is 1000, may be 1500 lbs on the civic., my boat
weight is 1050 lbs, I don't want to cause damage to the car or void the warranty.

Not a chance ... your HULL weight is 1000#, the package weight (hull, trailer, motor and gear) is close to 2000#. You will void the warranty, burn up the tranny, overheat the motor, not be able to stop worth a hoot, probably not be able to go up the ramp (maybe even be pulled backwards and underwater!) AND maybe even kill yourself in an accident.

DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT ...

Buy the Honda but spend a few hundred dollars for an old beater pickup truck in good running condition for pulling the boat.

Gary I think it would pull it. But not stop it. Also if you would trade that Dodge for a Chevy like mine. You could tow the boat and haul this

HEHE Not mine here is mine.

With the camper and 20ft boat I still get 12+ with it.

Pete, wow that was a cool set-up, and I like your set-up to. I'm gonna hold on to my Dodge truck, I was just wondering about the civic's capacity,I knew
it was to good to be true.
I've been keeping my eye open for a used bed topper for my truck, I'd like to
    get one before spring.

    Default Wipers

I see in the pic that they had the windshield wipers up off the windshield, I
guess to keep them from freezing to the windshield?, and hey what's that white stuff anyway, we don't have that stuff around here....yet.

I would not want to be a passenger in that civic while trailering and somebody pulls out in front of you. Its hard enought to stop in a 1/2 ton pick up. I agree, keep the dodge so you can live to fish another day.
