Default This is just a heads up for anyone that might have motor problems:

My 150 shut down last friday, wouldn't hit a lick. felt like the fuel pump was not working.... which is what it was, except it wasn't the fuel pump , but the ECU unit, about the most expensive elec. part on a EFI 150..... cost with labor to the tune of $2 grand.....while I asked the marine repair place to hold up a bit I want to do some looking.... found I can send it out to Calif... to Simon Motorsports and get mine rebuilt for $695 with a one year warranty.... hell I can wait a few extra days to save that much....... that is just one of the many things they do and the turn around on it is 2 days... just saying......

That is a big savings. Thanks for the heads up Monty. Sorry about the luck with the Merc. I do believe you have gotten your money's worth out of it.

Vic that is the ECU unit only........... but I have had the motor 20 years and never spent a dime on it, so it has been and still is a cast iron motor......I just figured Ron had peed my fuel tank........ he does silly chit like that once in awhile.......

That Ron's bad luck! He was with me when my fuel pump went out! Nothing like feeling stranded lol
Cost me $1100 to repair mine with parts and labor! $650 just for the electronic fuel pump! YUK
