    Default Trolling motor problem

I have a Minn Kota V2. Its not new(it came on the boat I bought used a couple months ago so I don't know if its under warranty). I took it out for the first time a couple weeks ago and while using it for a couple hours it stopped working. I just thought maybe the battery was too low. I brought it home and charged the battery but that didn't work. I took off the prop and found a bunch of fishing line. I cut it out but its still not working. Has anyone else had a problem where they ran into some fishing line and cut it out and the motor still not work? Thanks for answers to the problem or comments.

Have you checked the fuse if it has one?

Nope but I use the remote and it still turns on when I hit left or right. I figured it the fuse was blown it wouldn't work at all.

Disconnect and reconnect the circular connectors going to copilot and control board. Could be a bad connection.

You can also try syncing the remote to the copilot just in case. There is a recessed red button on the side of the copilot to restart sync.

Good idea on the foot pedal. Some folks don't own a foot pedal.

If all that doesn't work that nylon line may have damaged the seal and you have water in the motor. Put the motor in normal run position then remove the bottom bolt behind the prop. If any water comes out you have found your problem.
