Prayer Request Spoonbill Snagging this coming weekend

Hey I'm new to this forum and am new to paddlefish snagging as it will be my first time this season. I'm going to be snagging the Osage River below Bagnell Dam near Jefferson City from the bank. Since it's my first time out I was wondering a good area where I could go snag with good luck or an area others have done exceptionally well at in the past. Any advice would be great for this paddlefish newb. Thanks!

It's been several years since I've had a decent trip below the 54 bridge. I think every dang spoonbill in that stretch is up by the dam. You can't hardly throw a crankbait without snagging one up there. I've caught a few down by the MariOsa, but conditions have to be just right or I don't catch squat. I've pretty well just decided to stick with Lake of the Ozarks and Tablerock for my snagging. I'll be down on the James River at the stroke of midnight to start snagging on opening day. Good luck to you!

I think right below the 54 bridge in the north west bank is a popular bank snagging spot. a friend of mine catches a few there every year.

All you need is a 12' BGJP and a 1/4 oz jig.

Don't know if this was the culprit, but I broke about a foot and a half off one of my BGJP's this morning. It's always something isn't it?
