Lake Okeechobee
Okeetaniee Ramp
Okeechobee, Fl.

Heavy overcast, very humid, misty,
with rain predicted to be most of day.
Temp. 63 at 7am - water temp 65.6.
Mist continued until around 9:30, a little
sun came out - then weather started to
come in lite rain-but held off until 4:30pm
when skies opened up.

Twelve (12) teams participated in event.
Some electing to spider rig the river,
others single pole jigging various locations
on lake. Little Grassy - Eagle Bay- Kings
Bar - Tin House Cove & Indian Prairie.
One team single poled the Weir up at the
locks.

Two (2) positions paid for "Big Fish"

1 lb. 11.0 oz

Three (3) positions paid for " 7 fish
catch weight"

5 tenths of once separated 1st & 2nd

Parker team - Spider rigged, single pole
jigged & push-pulled both the river and
various locatons in lake, using Wally
Marshall rods, at times minnow tipped
with Ron's zip jigs - Skipper's jigs
and Southern Pro stingers.
Single poling 3 -5 ft in bull rushes, pads
and mats - spider rigging 15 - 19 ft water
Jig collors -orange - red - black/red -
black-yellow orange stripped

Cole team - using Wally Marshall rods,
spider rigged river entire day. using
Ron's Zips & Skipper's jigs: hot pink -
orange - orange/chart & red/pearl &
Chart glow ice jigs. Moon jigs in glow
purple/ orange 18 - 22' water

Badley team- Wally Marshall rods,
spider rigging river, minnow tipped.
using ice jigs & moon jigs various colors
orange - purple - chart - red & Skppers
buttercup yellow zip jigs.
12 - 18' water
