I'm new to the site but a long time stalker lol. I've been crappie fishing for a long time but seeking some advice... Upgrading electronics and am curious as to what type of electronics you spider riggers are running on the bow

Lowrance Elite 5DSI/GPS ... (discontinued by Lowrance & replaced with the HDI series, which has DI & 2d sonar & GPS mapping). Haven't really gotten into true Spider Rigging that much, yet, but have done some drifting, slow trolling, & pseudo-spider rig fishing.

Personally, I don't miss the 2d sonar ... since my DI gives me picture quality images. The GPS system (GPS location/map/waypoint marking) is a major factor to have IMHO.

I am starting the year with a Lowrance 4 hdi, but will be looking into a HDS series to work with My MG Xi5, where did You mount Your transducer? Id love to have down and side scan up front with out making some type of bracket to hold the transducer.
