in the winter will have to be tightlining under a slipfloat so I can put my hands in my pocket to keep warm. Been graphing a bunch of fish but no takers. Think next time I'm going to tie off to the stump and just sit there and hope that's slow enough.

Same here. I fished tuesday 0 fish, none nada, I fished wensday 1 7 inch crappie,1>2lb spotted bass, and 7 striper/hybrid that tangle all my lines. I hate stripers. Thursday was not much better 5 keepers, 3small ones, and 2 hybrid. Now that is a terrible week fishing, BUT it was a great week fishing. if you know what I mean.

oh yea. I used these greenish chartruse..ish alien looking plastic thingies with 2 straight tails curved to a ball right at the tips. the body is wide and flat with ribs

Is most of the winter crappie fishing methods tight line? Because that would make sense to me. What areas in a lake would you start?
Thanks for the pic Smitty, it helped, as well as everyones info.
    Thanks
