Good looking catch Jerry. I bet they had a great time.
Finally got back on Greeson today and had a fun and interesting trip. We got a late start - about 9:30 - and only fished to about 1:00 but ended up with a pretty good mess.
We found some crappie really deep again at 29 to 32-feet but also found some around 20-feet deep.
About the time we were talking about heading for the boat ramp we had crappie hit all 5 of the slip-float rigs we had out, one right after the other, so we had 5 crappie on with only three people fishing and it got a little crazy there for a bit but we landed all five.
The striper hit a jig and the youngest crew member reeled it in. His older brother caught the Largemouth Bass to help even the score.
It was a beautiful day to be on the water!

A bad day of fishing
beats a good day at work.

Thats great! I bet them boys had a blast, especially when that striper decided he was hungry.
You can't fish with a hung line!
Was Owen guiding today or did he just let you fish Greeson by yourself?
A LOT of nice fish...WTG

Boy. That's a nice mess of Christmas Crappie! That would be a great gift for for Christmas.
I sure hope to get in on one of those deep water trips maybe after the first of the year when things slow down a bit.
Tryin to work on condos in my spare time right now so I can catch them like that!

Nice mess of fish there Jerry. I hope we can make it down there next weekend. The weather doesn't look good right now, but seems like the forecast changes twice a day. With any luck we will be there on Thursday afternoon/evening.

Do you go to lake Ouachita for crappie? Just curious it's such a beautiful lake!
Man that looks like a good time. Nice job Jerry. Thats a dream trip for them from the looks of it.
You and Darryl are top notch guides. An example for all the rest.
I'm interested at what you 2 think about Ouachita as well. I had a chance to go fish it back when Crappiethon was still in business for a Classic, but my wretched partner quit on me. That was an interesting tourny for us. We took 3rd with just 14 of 20 fish if I remember the totals correctly. It was a while ago. We hammered some slabs first thing in the morning before the fog lifted then only caught one fish for the rest of the day. If we could have filled our limit with those fish before the fog lifted we would have creamed everyone else.Originally Posted by Frogger

Good things come to those who bait.

I don't guide on Ouachita but you're right, it is a beautiful lake. It is full of cover - standing trees and weed beds and super clear, plust it fluctuates a lot so it's hard to stay on top of them if you're not there every day.
DeGray and Greeson are about as pretty as Ouachita and with those two and Hamilton we have our hands full sinking condos and keeping up with them.
