Default KDWPT Fall Test Netting Fish sampling Video

Here's a new video showing a day on the water during fall test netting that KDWPT District Fisheries Biologists conduct each fall on Kansas waters.

    Hope you enjoy the video.

The 2015 Fishing Forecast should be available within a couple of weeks. El Dorado normally doesn't rate very high on the Fishing Forecast for crappie, but we do have good numbers of really nice crappie!!

    dkv,

Saugeye numbers were GOOD at Council Grove during the fall test netting sample, nothing like two years ago but still good numbers and nice sizes available.

Crappie on the other hand continued on a downward trend. The recent droughty years and lack of associated spring inflows have really hampered the crappie spawn at Council Grove. Anglers continue to report good catches of quality sized crappie this winter but there is a shortage of younger fish coming up to take their places.
