I go heavy, makes depth control easy. No second guessing depth when I change sizes of lures (say from 1" grubs to 2.5" grubs or even cranks).

What type and how do most spider riggers use their sinkers?
? egg sinker, bell sinker ,or bank sinker.
? tied below bottom hook or above bottom hook.

Same here ... and I like to tie a clip or swivel on below the egg sinker, and have pre-rigged leaders (jig or plain hook attached) available to quickly change out in case of break-offs or if I want a different color/size jighead or switch from jig to hook (or vice versa).

With the egg sinker being held on the main line by the clip/swivel ... there's less chance of losing the sinker along with the rest of the rig ... since I can use a lighter pound test on the leader and expect any breakage to occur there.
