    Default Cranks and Blades---Crappiepappy

Been painting some lately, a new endeavor and getting some help from the best. ScottV has had some great success and has answered questions for me and helped shorten the learning curve. Crappiepappy, always a big help to us all, mentioned a while back that he had better success with blade baits that weren't the chrome finish they came with. Digging through the boxes I found some that I haven't used in a while and thought "why not" and here's the results. The crank colors are some that have worked in the past with others yet to come, and Pappy said that the blades worked great in white. The bottom left is pearl white and the eyes didn't show up, but they'll be used next time out. Too cold to fool around in the grudge much but so far I'm having fun. Isn't that what it's all about..... Thanks to everyone who has been patient with me and helped me along this path and the many others I've been down since joining here. Thanks for looking....Skeet.

Looking good. Those C55s and 549s work well and run true.

I like the looks of those bottom two blade baits. Bet you catch something on those.

Outstanding work, Skeet ... I wouldn't hesitate to tie any one of those on & not expect them to get hammered !!

The "Silver Buddy" blade baits that I use, used to come in white ... but, when they were no longer being produced in white, I painted some. The original white ones came with a red/black eye, but the ones I painted were solid white (no eyes painted in) ... and it didn't seem to matter to the fish.
I also remember painting one 1/2 chartreuse, making it white in the front half & chartreuse in the back half. Whether or not I still have that one, somewhere in my stack of tackle boxes, is unknown at this time

Were I using them as much these days, as in the past, I wouldn't be above painting some in solid chartreuse, solid pink, or even the "rainbow" effect of the one in your picture.
