Anyone fish near Ft Leonard Wood?

I will be doing some training on post for the next few months and am wanting to do some fishing. I fish for crappie, smallmouth, largemouth, trout or basically anything lol. I don't have a vehicle so my transportation options are limited. Just looking to see what fishing opportunities are out there and if anyone has any connections in the area. Thanks!

I know you got a few responses from the other forum, but don't know if anyone mentioned that there are a few trout streams on the Fort property that are stocked by MDC. There are some pretty strict trout regs, and some of those streams may be catch and release only, but you might be able to have some fun!

I grew up in that area, tons of fishing opportunities close by. The Big Piney and Gasconade rivers have great smallmouth fishing and the Big Piney runs through part of the base. Roubidoux Creek is stocked with trout in March and the big spring where they stock the trout is in down town Waynesville. Good luck!
