Default slow trolling shallow water crappie and first deer!

After 24 hunts in MO and KY, my son and I finally threw in the towel, and with a heavy heart vowed that we'd get his first deer next year. He recovered quickly, but it was tough for old dad. I knew he could shoot, I just had to get a deer in front of him, and I didn't get it done. I posted my weekly outdoors column I write for the newspapers around here, and a crappie fishing buddy from Grenada, MS called me and said to put that boy in the truck and get down here! Long story short, my son center-punched a yearling doe from 220 yards! the whole story is on my website at joshgowanoutdoors.com if you're interested, but man are we a couple of happy guys! Here's a pic of my son with his deer, and my latest article from wired2fish about slow trolling shallow water crappie. I don't know about you guys, but I'm ready to fish!
