    Default Frustrated Clinton 1-10 trip

I went out to Clinton yesterday since the lake is frozen over to see if the crappie had moved in under the marina and under my shack.
After opening up my shack and opening up one of the hatches I found the ice to be only 1/2 inches thick so I pushed down on it with a 2x4 to break it up enough to fish. When I opened up another hatch there was a crappie just under the ice, so I gently pushed down just enough to breakup the ice so I could drop a jig with a nibbler down. I put the jig and nibbler just above and in front of his mouth with no interest at all. I saw possibly the same or another crappie 4 feet down by my minnow bucket so I tried to get it to bite. AGAIN NO GO.
I fished for 2 hours with minnows and jigs without a bite, then saw a crappie down maybe 8 inches so I placed a minnow around his head, again no reaction.
Is it possible that it was sick, too full, or not in the mood to eat?

tried the same thing with the fish in my fish bowl...barometer must be high and they have a headache...now these 2 fish that I have are male....sooo, I played that song from Def Leppard "Pour some sugar on it" thinking it would get a rise out of them, didn't work.

Don't feel bad, I can't get them to bite when the water temp drops below 45 degrees at HD. I've thrown the kitchen sink at them and strike out. Sumbody help me!!

You might try a different brand of minnows
