    Default Anyone use hard baits?

I have caught almost every species of freshwater fish on baits like these, including some Crappie. I have used different sizes and colors. Go by names of BassPro Lazer Eye XPS, Cordell Gay Blade and Thinfisher.

Anyone here use them specifically for Crappie? Cast, troll or jig?

Good lures! I have used the gay blades with success for crappie in a nice clear water lake. I prefer Kastmaster spoons over them though.

Are you using different colors or just silver? About all I have is clear water.

Silver or gold War Eagle 1/4 oz spoons seem to do well for me if they are not hitting marabou jigs. I have not done real good on the blades yet! I catch several spots on the spoons as well.

I always fish with the BG baby shad baits especially the lights out color.

I use the silver because in clear water they are easier to see for the crappie I found. You know the old saying, the clearer the water the brighter the lure. I do have a couple with blue and chartreuse flashing.

Blade baits can be good when they school offshore. Good fun when a good bass hits one on a light setup.

Caught em incidentally while fishing for bass and walleye. But reading folks are using the smaller ones and trolling them

I can catch even TINY ONES with the Kastmaster spoons. This was the 2" I was trolling on four rods, two spoons each.

Number 5 flicker shads are a crappie and white bass magnet for me.
