Be a pain to put a rod sock on everytime you move.

Stand your rod straight up, put jig in hook keeper, grab line around the second line guide from the reel, spin the rod wrapping line around the rod until you can hook line around second line guide. Wrapping the line will cut out 90% of your tangled tips running place to place or trailering.CF

I use Hi Tek rod holders and then put noodles around my double minnow (usually) rigs or jigs. No problems.
