Thumbs up Water in the woods

We have a big rise in the delta of Mobile county. From what I've been told fishing for pearch is a waste of time. They gotta be feeding somewhere. This is my first winter fishing for them. I would think that when the weather settles they should still be holding in deeper water and catchable. How about a little advice.

I fished a river here this morning that has been flooded for months. I could see em back in the woods feedin but no way of gettin at em. Too soft to wade and too thick to push back in there. Kayak woulda been the trick. Course it was 80 degrees here today and water temp is 68.
