Default How many jigs do you go through in a year crappie fishing???

Have been watching the pole favorite size crappie jig!!(1/16 oz ) is winning. The question is how many jigs/jig heads do you go through in a year of crappie fishing!! 100,200,1000? Do you break of or retrieve your jig???

I haven't kept count but I go through quite a few dock shooting. Some pull out and some get the head of the jig fouled and they have to be broken off. Docked that have had new pilings added beside the old ones and the top redone seem to be the worst for grabbing jig heads. But the fish like the added structure.

I don't get to fish as often as I would like, but when I do ... I use weedless jigheads. If I lose a dozen in a year, it just means I've been pushing the limits of "where" that jig needs to be placed to find a hungry fish.

Between Walleye fishing and crappie fishing along with help from some friends with the same pursuits 400 or so 1/32 walleye jigs plain coated heads we tip with some kind of live bait. Tied Crappie jigs ~350 give or take and coated heads with keepers 250 or so, Never keep good records but know how many hooks I buy. Plain heads for walleye I coat 50 because my box will hold 50 in each compartment and replenish as needed and I have a total of 24 compartments many of which are rarely used.

Tied Jigs for crappie - I tie 2 dozen, one dozen go on a jig board and one dozen stay in the shop for replenishing. Cannot tell you how many jigs are on my board but do know that I have 24 feet of foam strips and every inch is covered. Mostly do 1/16 and 3/32 ounce with keepers for crappie and plastics same box as I use for small walleye jigs but with the bigger jigs will only hold about 25 each compartment.
