    Default Question for Minn-Kota owners

I just bought a Minn-Kota Co-Pilot trolling motor. I hooked it up to the battery today and as soon as it got power, the motor started turning. I could not press any buttons on the remote or work the foot pedal to get it to stop except disconnect the battery cable. Has anybody had this happen? If so, what needs to be done to fix this?

    Thanks for the help

If you don't have a manual, go to minnkota's web site, Should be able to download one. Or you can call minnkota and speak with a technician.

Thanks guys. I tried a couple of things and I managed to get the foot pedal to work but not the remote.

I wrote something wrong in the earlier post-the propellar does NOT turn when I try to hook the power like it's supposed to be hooked up. The steering shaft turns around and around and it only stops when I disconnect the cable from the battery. Make a long story short, I called the closest Minn-Kota service store and they said they have had several cases of Co-Pilots doing this so I'll take the motor to them and get it fixed.
