    Default December 13 Cherokee Lake

What an outstanding event we had Saturday at Cherokee Lake. It started out very cold Saturday morning around 25 degrees but warmed quickly with the sun rise. The crappie population on Cherokee Lake seems to be doing very well! There seems to be a very nice population of large black crappie in this lake. We had 4 teams bring over 9 Lbs to the scales with there 7 fish limit. Scott Bunch and Neil Alvis had to fight for the win on this day, but they pulled it off with a massive 9.93 Lbs! Taking the 2nd place position was Tim Smith (Mr. Slider) and Ed Besley with 9.87 Lbs. Tim and Ed also had big fish at 1.73 Lbs. What a slab! Rounding off the top 3 was Anthony Tipton and Scott Carmack with 9.67 Lbs. Also I want to take the extra time to say a huge THANK YOU to speck for the wonderful BBQ after the tournament. It was extremely good. Congrats to our top teams! Great bags guys. Also thanks to everyone for coming out and bearing the cold. It's always a pleasure!

Congrats to the winners and all who fished the tx. Saw some really nice fish being weighed in for sure.
    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

We had a great time started out fishing blowdowns and docks along with some rock points in the mid part of the lake with little luck, 2 crappie and 2 smallmouth made our way to the upper end of the lake where we had fished earlier in the week. We decided to spider rig with the bigger fish seeming to relate to the bottom. our largest of the day came as our first fish spider rigging a 1.63 and stayed steady the rest of the day, and the last fish coming @ 3:10 also in our top 7! We enjoyed fishing along several other teams that we seen catch alot of fish too. I think the #1 reason that we won this trny was the balance beam with the difference in 1 oz. over 5 or 6 fish barely different don't take long to turn into 1 oz. and LUCK!!!! Great group of guys and gals and great bbque by Speck
    WACKEM AND STACKEM!
