    Default Rods

How much stock do you guys put in your fishing rods?? Wife got me a ST. CROIX premier series for X-Mas so I don't get to use it yet but I have always used a bass pro Microlite or Wally rod and like those. Just was wondering what all you pros use and why you like them:D :D

I have always liked fenwick's but have switched to ozark rods(Tony Edgar signature series) they are sensitive but have enough backbone to handle the big ones and are designed specifically for crappie fishin. They come in lengths from 4 1/2ft-7 1/2ft casting rods 8ft-12ft jigging poles and trolling poles 12ft-16ft give one a shot i bet you'll like it.Give Tony a call 573-378-2220

i really like this little browning microlite rod. i only have one, but the combo is only about 30 bucks, so i'm gonna buy a few more to leave at LOZ. that story i told you fellers about hiking in and having my rod break on me, that was a wally marshall. i still like those rods also though. it broke because of rampant user abuse, not because of design.

I agree with Bugman ozark rod's my daddy taught me to land good fish the formula is 10%fisherman,10%line and 80% rod. so give Tony a try I have a couple 7'6" eagle claw and they are ok.( but the long poles) you need ones that are made for crappie, they help you to catch crappie, especially when the bite is soft. go get em

    Ozark rods are my favorite.
Every time out I have a 10' in my hand even if we fish docks.
Once you have confidence in one you will fish it harder and stick with it longer.

i bet you have to stadn pretty darn far away with a ten foot rod on a dock! my little 4 foot something superlight is what i always have in my hand on my dock. i just have never used anything over seven feet and those are all heavy to medium heavy for large and smallmouths. like you said gee, confidence is a huge thing.

I use 2-10' WM Sig. series for jigging, and a 6'6" Tony Edgar that my ol' lady 'won' @ the campout around docks. I'll probably get a 10' Edgar once I break the 2 WM's I have.
