    Default river sauger/crappie day.......

Fished Meldahl today...... Prolly 20 fish caught between 3 boats...... Most sauger were great size....... I didn't have minnows... The guys tipping with minnows def were catching more..... I got tired of watching everyone else getting bites besides me so pulled boat out and put boat back in at bullskin...... Fished 3 creeks. One creek had a few crappie...... Only caught 6 but they were pigs!........

As for the sauger, I guess this past weekend they smoked them...... They are there.... Supposed to be terrible weather tomorrow and it seems the worse the weather is the better those fish bite..... Anyways, good luck fellas

Sounds like a good report. What is considered a "great size" Sauger?

At Meldal we have limited out keeping over 20" on saugeye.
Sauger ~16 - 18" is good catch in those waters and I've seen 20"+ often enough to know they are there.

    Thanks. Learning new things everyday.
I had to google how to tell the difference in Sauger and Walleye.
I knew they were similar, but that's all I knew.
    Here fishy, fishy, fishy...
