Default Breaking in my newly built fire pit

I spent a day working in da yard. Outting our gardens to bed(pun) for the winter, hauling hay around where needed and wacking up a truck load of my favorite kinda fire wood....FREE!! Well after the chores were done nuffin left to do but sit back and enjoy the fruits...errr pork chops of my labor.

Here is the rest of the story of how this free fire pit came to be.

Thanks G. Actually the grill and pork chops were an alkyhol induced spur of the moment thing that worked out. I love it when that happens.

Wish we could have a fire where I live. The first and last time I built one, 3 fire trucks showed up and about 10 volunteers. The captain made me put it out read me an ordinance from the book and declared that this time he would not write me up but he had better not have to came back again. All for a little fire in a fire barrel.

Dont know your laws but here we use an old oven grate on top of barrel and have a packnof hot dogs handy. Whrn the trucks come blaring in, they feel pretty jaded when we tell em its a cooking fire. Cant do anything then.
