When do you use hand tied jigs?

I use them after I tie them. I always try my ties out after I try them. I use everything at my disposal to catch crappie. I use minnows. jigs tipped with minnows, plastic jigs, cranks, spinners, spoons, and of course the ever popular scents like nibbles and gulp alive. I even put the scents on my hand made jigs as well and it works great!

Ditto to what Gene says! Most of the year I just use them in the colder water. May have to start using them ore year round.
