What's the benefit of a palomar vs. a clinch (or improved clinch) knot? I've only ever used clinch or loop knots and have never had a problem, or seen a need for anything different. Just curious.

The benefit for me is after a work injury and 2 cervical fusion surgeries, I have sometimes serious numbness in my hands. During those times the palomar knot is easier for me to tie and as strong ,if not stronger.
