Flashchat

Is something wrong the flashchat?...Everytime I try to login it says someone with my user name is in the chat room..

You're showing in the "Lounge List" so apparently you weren't logged out cleanly. Ed will clear all those that are "stuck" in there when he gets a chance.

It does the same thing to me. When I try to get get in there, it tells me that some one else is using my user name and password.

Yep, your name is on the list too Richard - right at the top. If you PM Ed to let him know he may get all the stuck ones cleaned out sooner.

ALWAYS click on the red bar, FIRST, at the top of the message window, when you decide to close out and leave the chatroom. Then close the whole screen, by clicking on the X in the right hand corner of the page ... that screen should be the blue background with a blank "login to chat" window in it. When you close that screen, you should then see a "logging out of chat" window appear, momentarily, over whatever other screen you have active. That tells you that you have successfully cleared your user ID from FlashChat.

The Red Bar, that says "log out cleanly", is for removing your user ID from the chat room list ... closing out your connection to the chat room. Use it when you leave, and you won't have any trouble re-entering at a later time .... then all you'd have to do, to get back on/in chat, is to click on the "Flashchat" link above.

"Some" members seem to be able to not have to follow these proceedures, for whatever reason, but ... for the majority of the members using FlashChat, using the Red Bar to exit the chatroom, is the safest & easiest way to insure that you can return to the chatroom, later, without problems. ... cp
