    Default EagleClaw Ice Reel

Found some EC ice reels on sale for $21 and thought I would try them out for 2 poling. I like the feel and weight on my HT 11" JSG rods that I replaced all the eyes with 11 micro guides. I am also using 15# PowerPro slick braid. Have not fished a lot with these reels but they seem to work great for me. I am looking at cutting down the handles to make them a little more compact. I have to customize everything . I have been using ultra light Cetina Pflueger under spins for 3 years and they have held up great. Here is a pic for comparison.

I heard about these today and several people are saying they work great. I see several in my future.

Hey Ricky, Got them from Dicks and I checked and they no longer have these available. I just ordered 2 more from Gander for $29 with free shipping. They don't last very long. Tried to get some last spring and they are just now getting them back out . These are the graphite version. Eagle Claw Inline Ice Reel-695887 - Gander Mountain

Is there a way to disengage the spool or do you strip the line off?

Ive never seen them at Gander but they probably have them somewhere. Especially with ice fishing season approaching.
