Default Some River Crappie Fishing Fun *Pics*

Now, when I got my boat 2 years ago, I'd take off to the river for bass and pike fishing, take the heavy rods and hit the water. BUT, now that I've gone back to down sizing my rods, reels, and tackle. I started heading to the river with PANFISH on the brain, hehe. That is after I widened my fishing abilities with the use and helpful hand of some newer plastics than what I was used too.
I started out in the spring using jigheads and little tubejigs. Then I moved up and back to little cruly tail grubs (old school), then I tried these things called a paddle tail grub. WOW, these are awesome.
Now armed with my UL and ML rods, 1/16 oz, 1/8 oz jigheads, and 6# mono, I head to the river looking for the gills, perch, and crappies.
It's always fun to have a partner in the boat to share the fun.

But, the fishing get hot and no one wants to take a picture on every cast, hehe. So, I needed to learn how to take pictures with one hand on the camera and the other hand on my fish.

You get some funny looking angles in your shots, but when your boating over 50 fish a trip to the river, who really cares. And when your with the camo, my boat parnters are on the fish too.

We even tie up 2 or 3 boats together then we really get into a pile of fishies.

We even get other fishies at times.

    Default Part 2

Here is a good buddy of mine with his little pocket fisherman pole holding a winner of a gill.

And no he isn't from the band ZZ TOPS, although his name is Chainsaw, yes that is right.
    Some perch, too.

And we can't forget our eat anything friend the largemouth.

Not to leave out the colorful Pumpkinseed aka "Sunny".

And I'll end up with my picture in my avatar.

Crappies are so awesome to catch.
Only a true fisherman can be so versitile and can put fish in the boat like this on 6# and 4# mono.

So grab your light rods and reels and hit the road, end up at the house or launch and lets go fishing.

PS-Don't be late, you'll be left at the docks!

Only hope that next year my boat fishing can be so good if not better next open water season. :D

Now, I'm in waiting for the ice to form and I can fire up the power auger, chase those flags and hear the drag singing on my jigpoles.

Hope to see ya out on the water, either hard or open, look me up, the camo is always looking for a fishing partner to share the fun with.

That's a nice size pumpkin in that one pic. I caught one this spring and just dug the coloration of it. They're pretty fiesty for small fish but that's what makes them fun to catch.

Great pics. Great to see more NY anglers here.
Good things come to those who bait.
