Since no one wants to chime in. Im praying I can catch 9 to 9.5lbs each days to hang with the big boys. That's a 1.3lb average.
Since I'm fishing the classic. I'm wondering what weight will it take for 2 days. I'm guessing 20 to 21 pounds. Oh yeah 8 straight days of thunderstorms and rain. What ya guy's think?

I took a look and it's on Lake Cumberland if I remember right. I used to have a client that had a houseboat on Cumberland come duck hunt with me every year and told me about the crappie fishing over there. Going by that and past performances on Cumberland, I'll say with 15 lbs you will be real happy with your finish.
Good luck to you.

It is, indeed, on Lake Cumberland ... in south central Ky. I don't know what weights will be necessary to win, but it will be an open field for just about everyone that fishes it. Cumberland is a 52K acre lake, at normal Summer Pool ... but, prior to this year, it's been a 30K acre lake for the previous 6yrs, due to work on the dam. The water level was pulled down ~ 40' and held there over those years. Wherever possible, new growth of trees & brush sprang up along the banks & back in the backs of creeks ... during those years. Now that the lake is back at normal capacity, a lot of those formerly dry banks and creeks are underwater ... essentially making the top 40ft of the water, a brand new lake.
Whether that will be a positive or negative for the tournament ... ... but, for the near future, it should be a boon for all species of fish in the lake, especially Crappie.
To all the CUSA Classic anglers ..... luck2ya !!

I have fished Cumberland for crappie and it is one big deep clear watershed. Very hard to get anything going. Locals fish the bluffs with lights at night. Good luck and do us proud!
