    Default channel markers

I live in Alabama and fish an area where the creek channel is very winding all the way out to the river. A lot of the channel markers got way out of place during high water currents. This is a very dangerous area and needs to be re-marked. I asked the game warden who was in charge of it and he did not know. Who do I need to get in touch with before someone gets hurt?

You should ask your senator and representative if they would help get the ball rolling with the COE.

Same condition here on local COE flood control lake. Retired resident engineer over the project told me they had guidelines and were bound by regulations to keep them maintained once put in place!

If it is a COE reservoir, then they maintain the ones that are required (Coast Guard determines which ones are required and usually it is just in commercially navigable waters). Sometimes locals/marinas/or the COE put up courtesy buoys, in which they have no obligation to maintain them. Similarly, on an Alabama Power reservoir, AP might have courtesy buoys, but again no obligation to maintain them.

We have lakes in Arkansas that are maintained by Bass Clubs. DP
