Albuquerque crappie

I may have an opportunity to relocate to Phoenix or Albuquerque. Can anyone tell me if what the crappie fishing would be like I ABQ?

My dad used to catch some down in Elephant Butte two hours to the south. He hasn't really fished in the last decade or so and last I heard the lakes on the Rio Grande are way lower than historic levels, so I don't know how that may have affected the fishing. Unfortunately, that is the limited extent of my knowledge of fishing in New Mexico.
