    Default Braid use for Crappie

For those that like braid for Crappie fishing, I have switched from Daiwa Samurai braid to Seaguar Smackdown Tourney braid, because it is even smaller and casts even better/farther...with the same strength and wear.
I use Braid 100% due to the water conditions (stained), and the toothy Gators that like the same size and colored swimbaits as crappie...BIG Slab Crappie and Walleye inhabit the same areas in our lake and follow large school of shad.
The line pictured beside the smaller Smackdown is Power Pro Super 8...both are 20lb braid and both are suppose to be equivalent to 4-6 lb mono....someone's sizing is way off!

Interesting for sure! I use 10-2 for crappie and heavier for bass especially if fishing around the Hydrilla as they will pull you right into that stuff and with mono it's not coming out. May need to check out that Seaguar, but is it as quite going through the eyes as Super Slick?

I've posted this before, but it bears repeating. The whole line diameter/breaking strain thing is a complete crap shoot.

Not all of these lines are available in the US, but it's still a good illustration.

Exactly....Anytime new braid comes out, I take a piece of what I'm using to compare...if it looks the same , I'll trial it for performance.
I had 2 different partial spools of PPS8, 2 partials of 832, and 4 of the Samurai to base size difference....I keep old spools just to measure diameters...the old 3 strand was the worst.

The Samurai and Smackdown are both super soft and quiet...neither has the heavy waxy coatings, that others use, to make them perform.

Not that I know of (Walmart), I have an extra spool I'll send you to try out. I have to send the decal back to you anyways. Bonehead has a website or just call him up.
